Gov. Steve Montgomery works the talk. JC West Rotarians gather under a tent to eat their box lunches before getting to the day's agenda: work. Gov. Steve Montgomery speaks to the club briefly about Winston Rutledge (center) helps unload mulch from a city parks truck.
Alicia Turner and Warren Prost rake in the mulch along a rock wall to prevent erosion. Dr. Warren Solomon shows he can cut out thorny bushes as well as he can teach thorny issues. Jill Dobbs helps remove a jungle of growth on the hill at the entrance to Rotary Park. Mark Naeger, Todd Vandelicht and Larry Neill brave the jungle of thorny vines to help beautify the park entrance. It was not an easy job for folks in short pants! Rita Esterly (right) receives instructions from the City Park's worker Amber Gossen, who directed the landscaping work to be done.
Mike Gray wasn't trying to escape with the portable PA system. It was his to begin with. He later returned to do his bit at Gov. Steve Montgomery joined in with the JC West Rotary folks to work along the rock wall. C.S. Verseman tidies up the rock wall that is part of the entrance to Rotary Centennial Park.
